PANELS and BUSINESS APPLICATION SESSIONS (BAS)

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE

The general panels and Business and Application Sessions (BAS) in the recent ICCs and Globecoms have become very popular, drawing large audiences with lively and fruitful discussions. We would like to continue and strengthen this trend with your participation.

The BAS panels will focus on business implications, market trends of cutting edge technologies, and applications. The BAS are intended for the whole conference audience but particularly for those who are interested in a high-level view of the complex technology landscape and business implications of new technologies. The speakers are technology experts and business executives.  Panels will also include sessions with technical focuses aligned with ICC 2003’s themes, including all areas within communications (Optical Networking; Communication Theory; Next Generation Internet; Broadband Wireless and Satellite Communication Systems; Advanced Signal Processing for Communications; Communication QoS, Reliability, and Performance Modeling; Global Services and Infrastructure for Next Generation Networks; and Personal Communication Systems and Wireless LANs).

Each panel session consists of a 90-minute long panel discussion, typically involving three or four speakers. The format is flexible: e.g., presentations by speakers followed by a Q&A session, or panel discussions only, with questions from the chair and audience.

If you are interested in organizing and/or chairing a session, or are interested in participating in a session as a panelist, please contact the Chair (m.ulema@ieee.org) or Vice-chairs (echong@engr.colostate.edu, fsun@hns.com) below by 1 September, 2002.
